Which Bag are you on the School run?

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve been missing the school run in lockdown. Mainly for the reason of all the different characters that you see. So, I thought I’d write a blog about the different types of school mums that I see (I may even reveal which one I am or have been!).

The Fashionista, this mum always looks great. Not only that her children are immaculate and you wonder how she maintains these high standards. If this is you, please share with us how you do this… I’d love to know. Her handbag changes daily to match her outfit and I bet there are no kids biscuits in the bottom of her bags.

The party mum is so much fun, her handbag is a clutch so she can go straight to or from the pub. All she needs is her purse, phone and lipstick, so she chooses a funky clutch bag. Other mums prefer to see party mum at school drop off in the morning, when she’s looking hungover and not so glam. A superb fun mum, but no floral dresses for her.

The corporate mum is always suited and booted with heels to match. She’s constantly on her mobile phone and not in any mum clics at the school gate. Other mums may find her stand-offish, but shes actually really nice, she’s just too busy to find out about the school bake off. Her bag is usually a high quality laptop bag.

So on to the earth mummy. The earth mum loves motherhood so much, nothing is too much trouble for her kids, but this has come at a fashion cost. She doesn’t even use her own handbag, but one of the children’s full of snacks, drinks, handwipes, plasters or whatever they may need. She is prepared for every occasion. Her kids trusted rucksack is the haven of parenthood for her.

On to the sporty mum, she fills most other mums with dread that they haven’t set up that gym membership. I must admit the sporty mum does intimidate me a bit, it always something on my list of things to do. Whilst walking up to meet the kids with my bumper family size bag of maltesers, the gym mum is not someone I want to bump into.

The late mum is always…. late. Her handbag could be one of many, whatever she can grab as she runs out of the door whilst brushing her kids hair and still dressing herself. It doesn’t matter what time she gets up, she is just incapable of getting the kids to school on time. When she finally does get there, she has to endure the tuts from the other mums, namely the earth and fashionista mums.

So there’s the Love EMVY summary of mums and their bags on the school run. The big question is which one are you?
